These gorgeous tomatoes are a new item we started offering at the farm stand this spring. The XL tomatoes and cluster tomatoes are grown year round in greenhouses in Ontario. They have proven to be a welcome and popular addition to our farm stand. Both kinds of tomatoes are also available for wholesale delivery to our restaurants. We have white potatoes, yellow potatoes, 10lb cooking onions and XXL green cabbages for sale if you pop into the farm. Please bring your own bags. You can visit “At The Door” for pricing and our hours of operation.

The beautiful, healthy-looking plants in this field are our round white potato crop that will be available at the end of July. John & Curtis were scouting the field to look for signs of damage from evasive weeds and pests under the watchful eye of Riggs. You can visit “New Potatoes Coming Soon!” to see a video of one of our potato fields in full flower.
Dad deserves something special, and my new recipe is a perfect side dish for your Father’s Day BBQ (or any other dinner for that matter!) “Greek Lemon Potatoes” are a traditional recipe straight from Greece. They pair well with your favourite chicken, pork or lamb dish.
This recipe uses a braised then roasted oven cooking method. The potatoes begin half-submerged in a combination of freshly squeezed lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, oregano and chicken stock. Most of the liquid is absorbed into the potatoes. The heat is cranked up when only the olive oil is left in the pan which roasts the outside of the potatoes. The end result is a potato wedge packed with flavour that’s super creamy on the inside and super crispy on the outside. Click on the PDF document above to print or download the recipe file. You can visit “BBQ Smash Potatoes” for another summer cooking potato side dish This is the International Year Of The Woman Farmer. Since there is exactly one woman farmer at this farm, get ready to hear all about me today! This is the May column I wrote for our local newspaper The Bulletin. The title completely describes the content of the article, so I will leave you to read it in peace. You can visit “The Common-Tater Gets Printed” to read my very first column in the paper in case you missed it.
Join me as I hop into Curtis’ tractor for a trip to our local fertilizer plant. Curtis makes this trip many times every day when we’re planting our crops. Fertilizer is one of our most important crop inputs playing a vital role in boosting our crop yields. You can visit “Tractor Joy Riding” to see a video of what happened when I tagged along with John in the potato planter.
