The Common-Tater
|
There is something almost magical about new crop potatoes. They have a delicate skin, a delicious flavour, and they are ready & waiting for you at our farm stand right now. These potatoes are only available for a short time in the summer so don’t miss out! P.S. We also have beautiful corn from Norfolk Country while we wait for our crop to ripen a bit more. If you’re looking for inspiration for cooking your new potatoes you can visit “Creamy Herbed New Potato Salad” or “BBQ Smash Potatoes.”

I captured this mama deer and her fawn when I was on a photo shoot in the back 40. I was taking photos of one of our potato fields that were showing an incredible display of flowers when the deer wandered through the field. You can visit the Animal Category of my Common-Tater blog to see many more videos and photos of the wildlife at our farm.
This year early summer is green and beautiful at the farm. So far everything is growing as expected due to timely rains and ideal temperatures. The potato plants are flowering, the corn is thriving and the soy beans are looking good. This video gives a great overview of the variety of crops we plant as part of our crop rotation and Integrated Pest Management Program. You can visit “The Common-Tater Gets Printed!” to learn more about crop rotation.
