A Potato Farm Blessing from our family to yours:
May your Christmas be merry and bright! May you have laughter & love with your family and friends! Any may your dinner have plenty of potatoes! Merry Christmas everyone!
If you’re looking for a new appetizer idea to wow your guests this holiday season, then look no further. I’m lucky enough to live just a hop, skip & a jump away from one of the largest duck farms in Canada, so this recipe is all about the duck (and potatoes!) Russet potatoes are sliced into rounds and oven baked. They are topped with whipped cream cheese, smoked duck breast and drizzled with orange sauce. This is a very easy recipe to make and even easier to enjoy.
Click on the PDF document above to print or download the recipe file. You can visit “Potato Crisps & Charcuterie Board” and “Bacon Wrapped Potato Bites” for more inspiring appetizer recipes. Bon Appétit! Do you picture farmers in December nestled all snug in their beds while visions of springtime dance through their heads? Well…nothing could be further from the truth. We are still working on combining our grain corn crop, and despite equipment breakdowns and adverse weather we have finally made it to our very last field. The grain corn crop this year was really affected by the drought and extreme heat last summer which resulted in tiny cobs of corn creating a very low yield. However, we still need to get the job done. Here’s hoping we can finish this week! You can visit “Back In The Combine Again” to see a video of our combine working last fall in much nicer weather conditions.
