From the Farmer's Kitchen
Welcome to my kitchen! I love cooking and have spent many years developing recipes for this website using products we grow here at the farm. Every recipe is cooked at least twice and tested by many different people before it’s added to the website. These four signature dishes invite you to think about new ideas for cooking potatoes and sweet corn. There are now over 50 original recipes in the ever-growing recipe section of “The Common-Tater” including an amazing “Baked Potato Bar.” Have fun exploring. Bon Appétit!
Buffalo Chicken Twice Baked PotatoesA picture is worth a thousand words, and in this case, it’s worth a thousand bites! Twice baked potatoes have always been my favourite way to cook potatoes and I love to experiment with new ideas. This recipe was inspired by traditional buffalo chicken wings served at sporting events everywhere. The potatoes are topped with my original and super easy recipe for homemade coleslaw. Any way you serve this, it’s sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Potato & Sweet Corn HashThis recipe was born at my cottage during a casual conversation with my brother. We both really enjoy cooking and often share ideas. When I told him I was interested in creating a new recipe combining potatoes and sweet corn, his thoughts began to swirl immediately. Together we very quickly came up with this dish which was inspired by Mexican Street Corn. Our parents would be so proud of our cooperation!

Warm Potato SaladI’ve always wanted to make a warm potato salad, but I have to admit I was a bit reluctant to try making one. Our family has a traditional cold potato salad that was perfected many years ago by Grandma Morton, so I was afraid to rock the “potato salad boat.” However, this delicious potato salad was extremely well received by my family, which goes to show you should never be leery of trying something new.

Potato Crisps & Charcuterie BoardThe hardest part of this recipe will be keeping the potato crisps around long enough to add them to your charcuterie board. I made 60 potato crisps, set them out for taste testing, and they were all gone before I could even take a photo! These potato crisps are a very tasty snack when they’re eaten just on their own. I’ve included a family recipe for a dip that certainly adds a layer of “yum” to the potato crisps. And if you want to go all out, I’ve included the directions for my charcuterie board that is guaranteed to have all your guests raving.
