Marion Thompson was a prolific writer. I want to share her wise and humorous words about being a mother that she penned in 1987:
No one is quite like a Mother
Neither Father, nor Sister, not Brother
She’s been there, forever,
For support, or whatever
When she’s gone, from our midst
There will never be another.
Through childhood
You often were chided,
Through problems,
You, also were guided.
Sometimes, it was rough
And she’d had quite enough
But, above all,
In her family, she prided.
